| I am currently Software Quality Assurance Manager for Northrop Grumman in Rolling Meadows Illinois. Before that I had similar positions at Hughes, Magnavox Electronic Systems, and I was a software engineer at Texas Instruments. I lived and went to school in Florida, and was born in New Jersey. So far, this has seen me through New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Virginia, Indiana, and Illinois. My family is spread all over the country, from Puerto Rico (where a huge branch of my mother's family still lives) to Texas and New Jersey. I have taught at Columbia College since January 1999, and online since March 2002. My educational background is varied, with degrees in Biology (pre-med), Computer Science, and of course history (with my graduate work in history). The fields which interest me the most are Ancient Egypt and Rome, Medieval England and Spain. My graduate research was in the areas of Tudor England and Early Latin America - particularly considering the impact of disease on history. |

| My wife's name is Bonnie, and we have a 12 year old (going on 20) son named Ryan. We have two dogs, Belle a Golden Retriever and Lady a cocker spaniel. We live in Carpentersville Illinois, which is one of the western suburbs (far west) of Chicago. Bonnie was a manufacturing engineer, but now spends most of her free time running our movie memorabilia business on ebay (ebay ID is "bzarrillo"). Ryan is in 6th grade and is standing by his desire of the last couple years to be a lawyer. He takes acting lessons - so that should help! I just hope he doesnt end up like his father - and decide BEFORE he spends 12 years in college! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| My hobbies and interests include movies and movie memorabilia, ancient coins and artifacts, books (of all kinds, especially history, of course), science fiction (star trek was a big item with me in the 1970s when I used to put on conventions). Concerning movies - watch the film "Joshua" - I'm in it (at least briefly - waiting for "confession" to father F. Murray Abraham! (I still had a beard then) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
